I was sitting in the Villa Borghese park in Rome with plenty of playing kids around, so eventually I just started sketching some of them. As a famous children’s psychologist said: “it’s silly to assume that just because something is fun, it’s not serious. Fun is a most serious pursuit for the ones engaging in it” (or something to this extent). So true. Look at what happens when a child breaks the rules of a game. Or when you spoil someone’s Jenga tower on purpose. Or look at football fans.
