Argh. I kept forgetting to scan the two new ones at work (you can’t get out of there fast enough, can you!), so finally gave up and just took a photo (which explains the tiny size and bad quality!). The girl is my sister, only she’s much prettier in real life! I kind of missed doing random doodles, so that’s where the background came from.
This is an idea inspired by my friend’s music album, which is called “About Time”. I like the idea, but I don’t like the way it came out at all, sadly. I think it would look really cool if I had any graphic skills and could make the same image out of actual photos of a guitar and an hourglass. Would work so much better here!
Had a bit of trouble figuring out how to get the drawings scanned after they’ve changed my work scanner so that it only does pdf files.
Anyway, it was done sometime in the summer, in a bookstore cafe – this gentleman seemed very engrossed in his reading.
Okay, I should’ve made more effort with the background – but to be honest you kind of forget the details when it’s been 2 years since the original sketch… The couple talking in the foreground came out quite nice though, which was the whole point! 😀
(PS: This was in London, somewhere close to the Tower. I just stopped on the way)
Phew, it’s been a long time. Mostly for two reasons: hell at work, doing (occasionally) 9-to-9 hours; but then luckily followed by lovely holiday in Valencia (oh, beach ball, how I miss thee!) – and also the fact that I’ve been concentrating quite a lot on trying to improve my guitar playing. All in all, I’ve been lagging behind.
Here’s a drawing of an elderly couple having their tea in a cafe in Krakow. Ink pen figures, ink background that could’ve been better.
Well, that’s been a long break. Lot’s of things going on, work and other stuff, and most of the time there seriously was no opportunity (or energy) to draw anything. Hopefully that’s over now. And presenting to you today: another one from the Camelot Cafe in Cracow, a lovely place with great food. Do give it a try if you go there!
I don’t know if it comes across, but this was started around Christmas (and half a year later… BANG! here it is!). I was a bit bored with black at the time, so in the spirit of the season I decided to give some of my more flamboyant pens a chance and went for green. The place is one of those little medieval cellar restaurants that Cracow is full of. What do you think? I’m fairly pleased, I think.
